DIY Lavender Bath Bombs

Greetings! I'm sure by now, everyone knows how much I am obsessed with Lush products. However, the closest store is about 45 minutes away from where we live. Which is probably a good thing or else I'd be in there once a week buying more products! My two favorites I always grab when I stop in are the twilight bath bombs, and the milky bubble bars.

While watching my YouTube subscriptions the other day, (yes, I watch a fair amount of YouTube, blame my husband for getting me hooked!) I came across a recipe for bath bombs from one of my favorite beauty channels Rachel Talbott. I've been wanting to try making them myself for a long while now, and I finally decided to try and recreate them at home this week. They were much easier than I thought to make, and I was very pleased with the results!
Here is the recipe she used:
1 Silcone mold of your choice, roses, hearts, etc. (I did not have a silicone mold, so I used cupcake liners and a cupcake baking pan)
4 oz Baking soda
2 oz Corn starch
2 oz Citric acid
2 oz Epsom salt
2 Teaspoons of water
2 Teaspoons of coconut oil, melted
I added:
12-15 drops lavender essential oil (more if you want the scent stronger)
Dried lavender petals
Start out putting all the dry ingredients into a bowl and mixing them together until everything is thoroughly combined. In a separate small bowl, combine the wet ingredients. Once each is mixed, add the wet ingredients into the dry and stir while adding. The mix will bubble a little, this is normal due to the citric acid. Make sure it is thoroughly combined. You want the mix to come to a stage where you can make a ball and it should not fall apart.
Grab your mold of choice, and add in a few dried lavender petals if you desire. If so, you only want to add a thin layer so they will stick into the wet mixture. Next, add a heaping spoonful or two into the mold and press firmly. You want these to be packed tight so they do not break when you take them out. After you've used up all the mix, let the molds sit for a minimum of 24 hours to harden.

After the 24 hours is up, go run yourself a nice hot bath and relax! These bath bombs fizz just like the ones you get from Lush.

What kinds of bath bombs would you make? Which bath bombs are your favorite from Lush? Leave me a comment below, I'd love to know your favorites!
Have a wonderful day!
Ali
