Bury St. Edmunds Christmas Fayre

Happy Tuesday y'all!
How was everyone's Thanksgiving holiday? Ours was positively lovely and VERY lazy. I don't think we managed to put on real clothes other than pajamas for three days straight! Whoops? We had all these plans to go see the new Fantastic Beasts movie, go to the Birmingham Christmas market. None of that happened and I don't feel one bit ashamed for not leaving the house for 3 solid days. Thank goodness for Thanksgiving leftovers to feed us!
Thanksgiving day we did manage to get out of the house, and the husband and I decided to break tradition and go on an adventure. With some debating between the Birmingham Christmas market and the Bury St. Edmunds Christmas Fayre, we decided the Bury Fayre was the winner since we missed it last year.

The market was scattered throughout the city center and abbey gardens which was absolutely perfect. It wasn't too crowded, and we could walk around without worrying about tons of people bumping into us or waiting in long lines for food.
Can we talk about this guys face? He knew I was taking a picture and did this on purpose.

This market traditionally runs during the 4 day Thanksgiving break for Americans. Thursday is locals day, so it is significantly less crowded that the other three days.

We were amazed at how many food stalls we found. It was so hard to make a decision on what to eat because we wanted to try everything! We settled on German style bratwursts with gluhwein (mulled wine) and this amazing pork, stuffing and apple sauce baguette that tasted literally like Thanksgiving dinner. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
This stall below had the BEST bratwurst.

A Christmas market wouldn't be complete without roasted chesnuts!

As you can see, visiting on locals night is definitely worth it to avoid the crowds.

My favorite part of the market was the different home decor and Christmas ornament stalls scattered throughout. This one had SUPER adorable merchandise.

We had such a wonderful day out at the market and enjoyed just strolling through, looking at everything it had to offer. We will definitely be back next year!

I hope you enjoyed a little photo journal of our Thanksgiving day. Which Christmas markets in the UK are your favorite? Leave me a comment below, I'd love to know! Stay tuned for more Christmas posts leading up to the holiday!
